Hutovo Blato

Hutovo Blato is a nature and bird reserve in a unique sub-Mediterranean swamp in Europe. It is known from ancient times as a green oasis, with an abundance of water with perfect conditions for a large number of plant and animal species to live in. The swamp is interesting and important from a scientific, environmental and tourist point of view. Hutovo blato is considered one of the largest bird winter ports in Europe. Because of the extreme importance and beauty, it was declared a nature park in 1995.
